U.S. Citizen and Permanent Resident Scholarships

Overview 

Scholarship Amount: $5,000 (credited in four installments) 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Valid for Domestic (citizens or permanent residents): Athletes and Military/Veteran 
  • Open to new Spring 2025 starts only 
  • Available for students enrolling at San Diego (hybrid or online and La Puente (online only)
  • Student must enroll for Spring 2025  (session start: January 6, 2024)

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Valid ID (driver’s license, state ID, or military ID) 

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: The scholarship will be awarded after the completion of the first session, credited in four equal installments 
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students. 

Benefits 

  • Financial support to cover tuition and related expenses

Overview 

Scholarship Amount: Maximum awar $3,000 (credited in four installments) 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Students eligible to receive Federal Federal Aid
  • Open to new Spring 2025 starts only 
  • Available for students enrolling at San Diego (hybrid or online and La Puente (online only)
  • Student must enroll for Spring 2025  (session start: January 6, 2024)

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Funding for students with a tuition shortfall for their first academic year after final determination from the CMU federal financial aid office (Award Letter) and/or CMU VA office (Benefit Notification).
  • Request for this scholarship will be at the descretion of the CMU  financial Aid and VA office after all funding resources have been applied for.

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: The scholarship will be awarded after the completion of the first session, credited in four equal installments 
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.

Lifelong Learning Scholarship

Overview

Veteran No-Cost Certification - amount varies based on the certification selected by the student from CMU’s approved list of certifications.  

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Valid for Veteran students only 
  • Available for students enrolling hybrid at San Diego campus
  • Student must enroll for Spring 2025  (session start: January 6, 2024)

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Continuous enrollment required during the first academic year.  

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: Veteran will have the option at mid-point of their degree program to select from the CMU approved certification list. CMU will provide a voucher to pay in full to the CMU approved vendor list.  
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.

Scholarship Amount: 15% tuition discount during your first academic year (credited in four installments) 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Valid for all transfer U.S. based international students holding a F1 visa in good standing 
  • Available for students enrolling hybrid at the San Diego  
  • Student must enroll for Fall II  (October 28, 2024 - December 22, 2024)

  • Have a F1 visa in good standing 

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: The scholarship will be awarded after the completion of the first session, discount applied in during your first academic year (four sessions) 
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.

  • Valid for New International Students only

  • Available for students enrolling hybrid at San Diego campus or 100% online (no I-20 issued)
  • Student must enroll for Fall II  (October 28, 2024 - December 22, 2024)

  • Must meet all admission requirements.

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: The scholarship will be awarded after the completion of the first semester, credited in two equal installments (at the end of your first and second semester) 
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.
