Fall Scholarships Available

American Dream Scholarship

American Dream Scholarship

Overview 

Scholarship Amount: $5,000 (credited in four installments) 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Valid for Domestic (citizens or permanent residents): Athletes and Military/Veteran 
  • Open to new Fall 2024 starts only 
  • Available for students enrolling at San Diego (hybrid or online and La Puente (online only)
  • Student must enroll for Fall I  (September 2, 2024 to October 27, 2024)

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Valid ID (driver’s license, state ID, or military ID) 

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: The scholarship will be awarded after the completion of the first session, credited in four equal installments 
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.3 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students. 

Benefits 

  • Financial support to cover tuition and related expenses

Bridge the Gap – Tuition Shortfall Scholarship

Bridge the Gap – Tuition Shortfall Scholarship

Overview

Funding for students with a tuition shortfall for their first academic year after final determination from the CMU federal financial aid office (Award Letter) and/or CMU VA office (Benefit Notification). Request for this scholarship will be at the discretion of the CMU Financial Aid and VA office after all funding resources have been applied for.   

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Valid for students utilizing Federal Financial Aid and/or VA Benefits  
  • Available for students enrolling at San Diego (hybrid or online) and La Puente (online only)
  • Student must enroll for Fall I (September 2, 2024 – October 27, 2024)

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Complete Free Application for Federal Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) before submitting the scholarship application, and must utilize all available financial aid options 
  • Continuous enrollment required during the academic year.  

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: Approved shortfall amount will be applied equally in 4 installments and at the end of each 8-week session over one academic year and upon confirmation GPA qualifying factors met.  
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.

Diversity Scholarship

Overview 

Scholarship Amount: 50% tuition discount during your first academic year (credited in four installments) 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Valid for all transfer U.S. based international students holding a F1 visa in good standing 
  • Available for students enrolling hybrid at the San Diego  
  • Student must enroll for Fall I (September 2, 2024 – October 27, 2024)  

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Have a F1 visa in good standing 

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: The scholarship will be awarded after the completion of the first session, discount applied in during your first academic year (four sessions) 
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.

Lifelong Learning Scholarship

Lifelong Learning Scholarship

Overview

Veteran No-Cost Certification - amount varies based on the certification selected by the student from CMU’s approved list of certifications.  

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Valid for Veteran students only 
  • Available for students enrolling hybrid at San Diego campus
  • Student must enroll for Fall I (September 2, 2024 – October 27, 2024) 

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Continuous enrollment required during the first academic year.  

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: Veteran will have the option at mid-point of their degree program to select from the CMU approved certification list. CMU will provide a voucher to pay in full to the CMU approved vendor list.  
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.

The Cultural and Global Enrichment Scholarship  

Overview 

Scholarship Amount: $3,000 (credited in two installments) 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Valid for New International Students only  
  • Open to new Fall 2024 starts only 
  • Available for students enrolling hybrid at San Diego campus or 100% online (no I-20 issued)
  • Student must enroll for Fall I (September 2, 2024 – October 27, 2024) 

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Must meet all admission requirements.

Award Conditions 

  • Scholarship Disbursement: The scholarship will be awarded after the completion of the first semester, credited in two equal installments (at the end of your first and second semester) 
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.

  • CMU Alumni in good standing and with no previous outstanding balance

  • Scholarship Disbursement: The scholarship will be awarded after the completion of the first session, credited in four equal installments 
  • Minimum GPA Requirements: Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.3 for undergraduate students and 3.3 for graduate students.
